Germany must prepare for the possibility that Russia will tighten the gas taps even more, said the country's economy minister Robert Habeck.According to the Sky News agency, R. Habeck added that, despite this, there is a possibility that Germany will survive the coming winter without the need to take drastic measures."We are facing a very difficult winter. We have to hope that (Russian President Vladimir) Putin will further reduce the gas supply," R. Habeck told the German broadcaster ARD.Nevertheless, the minister ruled out extending the operation of the country's three remaining nuclear power plants to save gas.According to him, this principle would save a maximum of 2 percent.of all gas consumed in Germany. On Friday, Russia's state-owned energy giant Gazprom announced it would suspend gas supplies through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline for three days at the end of this month.According to the company, maintenance work will be carried out on the pipeline.Nevertheless, it is widely believed that in this way Moscow seeks to put pressure on European countries already experiencing a cost-of-living crisis.
